What is this resource? This 70-page report, half of which are resources, focuses on how superintendents can use data to turn schools around. The report uses examples from superintendents around the United States to answer the overarching prompts of why data matter; using data to make smart decisions; data, public engagement, and strategic communications; and strategies for success.
Why is it valuable? On page 1, this resources states that school turnaround depends on the identification of and appropriate use of data by superintendents. More importantly, though, "superintendents work side by side with other administrators, teachers, principals and parents to ensure all children achieve." Although the document was written by and is intended for superintendents, it calls for partnerships and collaborative work to bring about change.
